The U.S. has such a wide and varied landscape, you can find a beautiful park in almost any part of the country.  Acadia National Park in Maine

Have you ever peed in the woods? I have. I used to do some serious back country camping as part of a summer camp program I attended as a kid. I was never a big fan of this weekly requirement, but as an adult, I've done a little front country camping. As long as I have toilets, a shower, and a tent, I am a pretty happy camper. If you're interested, all of the parks listed here offer front country camping and all, except Acadia, offer backcountry camping too. If you wish to go backcountry, be sure to check the reservation info for each park as spots fill up quickly.

 Redwood State and National Parks in California 

Camping is a ton of fun. No, it's more than fun - it's a wonderful way to relax, reconnect with nature, clear your mind. Some love it so much they even have campground weddings! 


 Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee

I live in Georgia and The Smoky Mountains are a pretty quick drive for us. It's a wonderful place to take in some fresh air and forget your troubles for a while.

 Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming

Grand Teton National Park is one of my places to see before I die. I can't imagine anything being more serene, calming, or beautiful than the landscape that this park provides.

Zion National Park in Utah

Visiting a state or national park helps support not only the park itself, but the wildlife that makes it home there, the park rangers who make a living there, and the surrounding community that relies on park visitors. It's an excellent low-footprint trip that leaves a positive impact on the environment.
