Hello, friends! My name is Jennifer and I'm the gal behind Eco and Elsie. This site was originally a companion blog to my previous venture, Earthly Affair, an online shop specializing in eco-friendly invitations. After giving birth in 2010 to my baby girl, I sold Earthly Affair so that I could spend more time with my daughter. Now I focus solely on bringing eco-friendly ideas, concepts, and products to the modern day bride via Eco and Elsie.
Now that we are introduced, I'll be a little more off-the-cuff: I strongly dislike conformity. I love backyard gardens, homemade cookies, and vintage jewelry. I have been known to bring plastic cups home from a party just so I could recycle them. I like 99% of the people I meet, but mingling at a cocktail party still makes my palms sweat. I don't believe in preaching. I firmly believe the best catalyst for action is through inspiration.

Where did the name Eco and Elsie come from? Eco, because this blog is all about being eco, and Elsie is a mish mash of both my paternal grandparents' names. Elsie also happens to be the middle name of my daughter. I know, I know... It's horribly unexciting, but it has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
